The Barefoot Bowmaker

Amidst the vibrant spectacle of Walk Back In Time event, several true artisan's really stole the show for me. One of them this year was a kilted bow maker, that I forgot to ask his name. With a stoic yet inspired demeanor, this barefoot, kilted bow maker stood at his makeshift workshop, nestled beneath the shade of a few trees. His canvas: a rugged piece of wood, a good three to four times larger in diameter than the bow he envisioned.
As he pulled his draw knife, the scent of wood began infuse the air, mingling with the smell of the food vendors and the blacksmith, another of my favorites you'll hear more about later. The sound was a symphony of steel against wood, each stroke echoing through the crowd. Wood shavings rained down, gently landing on his bare feet, creating a natural carpet beneath him.
With every calculated strike, his eyes narrowed in contemplation, studying the grain and texture of the wood. The onlookers could feel the passion and reverence he had for his craft. In his hands, the axe became an extension of his very being, removing precise pieces of wood as he sought the perfect form for the bow.
It was a dance of creation and reflection, a masterful blend of skill and intuition. And as the day wore on, the rugged piece of wood began to transform, revealing the beautiful, slender shape of a bow, each stroke etching the story of a craftsman's dedication and the timeless artistry of bow making.
